- Via server-to-server events (Conversions API) and via Meta/Google ad systems when you interact with our ads.
5. Why we process personal data and lawful basis (UK GDPR)
We process personal data for the purposes below. Suggested lawful bases follow ICO guidance; for cookie-based tracking and advertising, we use consent, and for handling enquiries and performing service,s we rely on legitimate interests and/or contract when a client engagement exists. You should keep records of any Legitimate Interests Assessments (LIA) if you adopt that basis.
Purposes and recommended lawful bases:
- To respond to enquiries, deliver services and manage client relationships: Contract (when you are a client) or Legitimate Interests (to respond to enquiries and pursue potential business).
- To operate, secure and improve our website: Legitimate Interests.
- To run, measure and optimise advertising, build custom/ lookalike audiences and remarket: Consent for non-essential cookies and tracking (Meta Pixel, CAPI). Users must be given a clear cookie consent choice before these trackers run.
- To comply with legal obligations: Legal obligation (e.g., record keeping for financial/tax purposes).
If you prefer us to rely on a different lawful basis for any processing, contact hello@tenpiece.co.uk so we can log and advise.
6. Cookies, tracking, Meta Pixel and Conversions API
We use the following tracking technologies:
- Strictly necessary cookies required for site functionality.
- Analytics and performance cookies (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager).
- Advertising cookies and tools: Meta Pixel is installed and configured to collect events and conversion data. We also use the Meta Conversions API to send server-side events to Meta for measurement and optimization. These tools may transmit hashed identifiers and event data to Meta to support ad delivery, measurement and audience building. You must be able to accept or decline non-essential cookies before these trackers are activated.
Data types sent to Meta or Google may include: event type (page_view, lead, contact), IP address, cookie identifiers and hashed contact details if you submit them via a form and we choose to link them. We do not, and will not, send special category data to Meta.
7. Third-party processors and transfers
We share personal data only with:
- Meta (for advertising, pixel and CAPI), and Google (analytics, ads).
- Any processors we use to operate our website, manage leads, or provide services (for example, CRM providers).
We do not sell personal data. If we transfer data outside the UK/EEA, we will use appropriate safeguards (e.g., UK adequacy, Standard Contractual Clauses) and inform you as required.
8. Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose collected, and in line with legal and business needs:
- Enquiry/lead records: retained for up to 2 years after last contact (unless you become a client or ask us to delete earlier).
- Client records (accounting/tax): retained for at least 6 years where required for tax and regulatory compliance.
- Analytics and cookies: retention periods follow the providers’ storage rules (we recommend 6–26 months for analytics, configurable by site). The ICO principle of storage limitation informs these periods.
9. Your rights
If you are in the UK/EEA, you have rights under data protection law, including:
- Right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and to object to processing.
- Right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
